Terms & Conditions

Last updated: September 2026

These Terms & Conditions apply to bookings and participation in activities offered by Jenny Coats Create-ED, including Art Club, art workshops, nature journalling workshops, nature walks and other creative activities.

By booking a place or taking part in an activity, you agree to these terms.

1. Bookings and payment

Places on workshops, Art Club sessions and other activities are confirmed once payment has been received, unless I have agreed otherwise with you.

Payment instructions will be provided when you book. Unless otherwise stated, payment is made by bank transfer.

Places are limited and are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Please check the date, time and location of an activity before booking.

2. Cancelling or changing your booking

I understand that plans can change. However, I often need to purchase materials and pay venue costs in advance, so I am not normally able to offer a refund if you cancel your place or are unable to attend.

Where possible, I will offer you the opportunity to transfer your booking to another suitable workshop, Art Club session or activity, subject to availability.

If you are unable to attend, you are welcome to give your place to someone else, provided you let me know in advance and the replacement participant is suitable for the activity.

For activities where places are sold as a block or termly booking, individual sessions cannot normally be refunded if you are unable to attend.

If I have to cancel an activity, I will offer you a full refund or, where appropriate, the opportunity to transfer your booking to another date.

I reserve the right to change the venue, date or arrangements for an activity where this is necessary. I will give you as much notice as reasonably possible of any significant change.

3. Nature walks and outdoor activities

Nature walks and other outdoor activities are informal opportunities to explore, notice and enjoy the natural environment. They are not guided hikes or formal outdoor instruction.

Routes may include uneven, muddy, wet, slippery or steep paths, hills, steps, woodland paths and other challenging terrain.

You are responsible for deciding whether an activity is suitable for you and for taking reasonable care of your own safety and wellbeing.

Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear for the weather and conditions and bring any medication, food, water or other equipment you need.

Weather and ground conditions may change. I may alter, postpone or cancel a walk if conditions make it unsafe or unsuitable to continue.

Children remain the responsibility of the adult accompanying them throughout the activity.

4. Art workshops and Art Club

My workshops and Art Club sessions are designed to be welcoming and accessible to people with a range of experience and ability.

Activities may involve drawing, painting, printing, cutting, gluing, clay, natural materials or other art materials and equipment.

I will provide reasonable guidance about the safe use of materials and equipment. Participants are expected to follow instructions and take reasonable care of themselves, other participants, the venue and the materials provided.

If you have a condition, injury, disability, allergy or other requirement that may affect your ability to take part safely, please contact me before booking so that we can discuss whether reasonable adjustments can be made.

5. Allergies and refreshments

Some activities include refreshments such as homemade cake.

I will provide information about ingredients and known allergens where reasonably possible and will take reasonable care when preparing and serving food.

However, food may be prepared in a domestic kitchen and I cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment or the complete absence of cross-contamination.

If you have a serious or life-threatening allergy, please contact me before attending so that we can discuss whether I can safely accommodate your needs.

You are responsible for deciding whether food provided is suitable for you.

6. Photography and images

I may occasionally take photographs during workshops, Art Club sessions or other activities for use in promoting Jenny Coats Create-ED, including on my website and social media.

I will not knowingly use an identifiable photograph of you for promotional purposes without your permission.

If you do not wish to be photographed, please let me know.

Please also be respectful of other participants when taking photographs during activities and do not photograph or share images of other people without their permission.

7. Children and young people

Unless an activity is specifically advertised as being suitable for children or young people, my workshops and Art Club sessions are intended for adults.

Where children are permitted to attend a nature walk or other activity, they must remain under the supervision and responsibility of their accompanying adult at all times.

8. Your belongings

You are responsible for your own personal belongings and equipment during activities.

I cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage to personal belongings unless this results from something I have done negligently.

9. Respectful behaviour

I want my activities to be welcoming and enjoyable for everyone.

Participants are expected to treat other participants, myself, venue staff, equipment and the surrounding environment with respect.

I reserve the right to ask someone to leave an activity if their behaviour is disruptive, threatening, abusive or otherwise prevents others from participating safely and comfortably. In such circumstances, a refund will not normally be provided.

10. My responsibilities

I will take reasonable care in planning and delivering activities and will provide appropriate information about what participants can expect.

I will take reasonable steps to provide a safe environment and to respond appropriately to foreseeable risks.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

11. Changes to these Terms & Conditions

I may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect changes to my activities, booking arrangements or legal requirements.

The date at the top of this page shows when they were last updated.

If you have any questions about these Terms & Conditions, please contact me through the Contact page on this website.
