Saturday 21st June, Dungworth Village Hall, 1-3pm
Have you ever tried watercolour painting and thought you’d like the chance to develop your skills? This session will introduce and develop your knowledge of watercolour painting techniques. You will learn about colour mixing, creating tone and how to develop perspective in landscape painting. You could bring along a photo of a favourite landscape to create a final painting.

Beginners and those who think they can’t draw and paint are very welcome! This session is suitable for adults and families with children over 7. All children under 16 should attend with an adult who is also participating in the class. It’s a great way to learn alongside your children and you’ll find their creativity will boost yours. All materials will be provided and you will leave with a small art print which you can frame.
What will you need to bring?
I provide all the paper you may need but feel free to bring a sketchbook if you have one. You are welcome to bring your own watercolour paints and brushes. You will find better quality paints produce better results. Some children’s watercolour pans are very hard and can be difficult to get a good result from but feel free to bring them along to try. If you would like me to provide you with a basic but really good quality paints I can do so.
How much does it cost?
The session is £10 each for 2 hrs of tuition, all the inspiration you could wish for and cake too!
Who is running this course?
This session will be run by me, Jenny Coats. I’m a teacher and artists living and working on the outskirts of Sheffield taking inspiration from the wonderful Peak District on my doorstep. I love getting outdoors, nature, painting, drawing and printing but I also love to share creativity with others and I always love to see the wonderful variety of approaches that each participant on a course produces. You can find out more about me here.
Come along and join me!
